We've finally made it! The modem is now in the garage, phone lines work, wireless is working. It wasn't to say that I didn't have problems getting everything setup however...
As you can see below, I ended up dismantling the 5 port phone splitter, and adding on a new, and longer, wire with a normal 8 pin Ethernet connector. This was to allow me to plug the adapter into the phone port on the patch panel. Nothing a little soldering couldn't fix!
Here's the part I'm sure you've been waiting to see. Everything all hooked up and wired. I tried to take as much time as I could with running all the wires, and made sure to zip tie at the same time. At this point the system has been up for about a month and has been running perfectly (short of my 20Mb/s internet connection).
For those who are curious, I highly recommend the Ubiquti UniFi line of products for home/small business. I'm still working on getting everything completely configured, but the wife has been happy with the solid internet.
After getting everything installed, I've also decided I'm going to be moving my UnRaid server into the cabinet, so if anyone knows of a good half-depth server chassis I'd love to hear about it.
I'll keep y'all updated on any major changes that happen to the rack, but until then expect more programming related posts!
